Hey America!

Hey America! So, lets start from the beginning! P-day! Hermana Merrill and I made pancakes for everyone in our district and then tried to study for a bit which was a bit tricky because well everyone likes to talk. Then I learned how to play Magic which a card game that everyone in the mission is obsessed with it. It was a little bit confusing in Spanish but no pasa nada. Then we played some futbol and basically watched as Hermana Merrill dominated everyone because she´s a pro! And then we went to see Nicole and then later Maria y Catalina some of our investigators. Then Tuesday we had a District meeting and had Kebob which is the same thing as shwarma which is basically this beautiful meat with sauce like a burrito! We then ran home and I packed my stuff so that I could catch the cercanias(train) to go to Fuengirola for trainer´s training. So, Me and the Elder I was traveling with jumped on and enjoyed the awkwardness until we found all the other trainers on the train about 20 minutes later. We got off went to the mission home and chilled out which was really strange. I don´t think I like sitting around doing nothing for that long. I'm definitely not used to it but it was nice to meet some new missionaries and find out what´s going on in the mission. Then we all had a meeting with President and Hermana Deere. I love them so much they really know how to bring the spirit. I felt so much more confident and excited to train after our meeting. We then headed to bed and the next morning back to Ciudad Jardin Malaga. Hermana Merrill and I went out contacted super fuerte. We have been trying to focus on being bold because believe it or not, usually when a missionary contacts you they are more scared of you than you are of them . Then Thursday we had some solid weekly planning and correlation that night. We just got a new Ward Mission Leader and he is awesome. He really wants to work and help us out. Then Friday morning we did a bit of painting with some members and then taught some more that night and one of our investigators gave us a cake that Hermana Merrill and I might or might not have finished by now...Then on Sunday three of our investigators came to church whooh! And the rest was a blur because everyone wanted to invite us over because Hermana Merrill is leaving this week. Maybe one day I´ll be able to write a not so all over the place blog but hey it is what it is! I love being here and being able to see the changes that people make to come closer to Christ. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to serve these people and give them my all! Thank you for all your support! I miss you all so much!

I love being a missionary!

Hey Everyone!

 

Well these past couple of weeks have been crazy! First we had a misión wide meeting which was awesome because I got to see everyone that I know in the misión! So we took a three hour bus ride to Sevilla and all managed to cram into the Capilla there. Then Hermana Merrill and I went on intercambios so I went to another part of Malaga for Hermana Giler for the day and worked in her área! Hmmm I'm sorry but I have been terrible with writing down things that have been going on so I can't remember too much that has been going on! In other news I received a call from president that I´m going to be training! Which is crazy because I feel like I just got into the misión and now I have to train someone else how to be a missionary! I love being a missionary! I love it so much and I'm so excited to show someone else how to love the people here and the work! I love that I have the chance to grow and learn! I feel like everyday I'm reaching the potential that Heavenly Father has set out for me! Thank you for all your support and I love you all so much!

 

I'm sorry this blog wasn't that good. I'm going to be better next week but really we just knocked doors a ton. It´s been pretty hard because we are working so hard but investigators are scarce. But it´s ok. I'm going to keep working! I meet my hija next week and tomorrow I go to the misión home for trainers training! have a great week!

Best Ice Cream Known to Man

What a week! Someone once told me that you know that you´re a missionary when you can fall asleep at all times and all places and I definetly felt that this week! This week Hermana Merrill and I attacked our area and worked with everything that we had and it paid off! We started off the week by heading to one of our investigators to see how they were doing and found them having a barbacue and of course they insisted we stay and piled our plates with food. We also had the chance to have a noche de hoger(family home evening) with one of our less activie familes and it was quite a feat seeing that they have 6 kids. Then most of the week was spent contacting people and by the end of the day we were a bit disappointed and one day we where on our way home when a dog starts to chase after us with his owner close behind of course we took this as an opportunity to start up a conversation with the man and he said that he had been intrested in the church for sometime and that we could stop by anytime. Miracle? I think so! And we ended the week by we celebrating my 6 month mark with some of the best icecream known to man ! I love every second that I have out here! Time flys by and I wish that I had more time to be out here serving these people! Have a wonderful week!

Hermanas have all the muscle

This week! Well, nothing too crazy! I am finally getting into the swing of a new area and have finally unpacked all of my stuff. Last Pday we decided to rent bikes and ride around Malaga which was super fun except poor Hermana Merrill´s chain kept falling off. This week was full of powerful lessons and great people. We met with some investigators who had rented out their piso to missionaries in the past and they invited us over to eat so we headed over and had a great lesson with the both of them and said that they would pray to see if what we where teaching them was true. They are so wonderful! We also helped one of our recent converts move because when you need to move stuff everyone knows that the Hermanas have all the muscle. And those are just some highlights of this week! I hope that you guys have a great week!

Coming at you from Málaga!

Hey everyone! Coming at you from Málaga!

That´s right I´ve left my beloved Cádiz to be here with the amazing Hermana Merrill. She is from Alpine Utah, is the best and is a little bit younger than me in the mission so we are just two joven missionaries tearing up this area. We live on the outskirts of Málaga which looks more like a pueblo than a big city which means that it is gorgeous. It´s strange to not know every street and almost every person. It´s almost like having to redstart your mission again... minus the part where you can´t communicate with anyone and don´t know the lessons. I love it here and I already love the people here so much. So, to take you through last week. We started out not with P-day but with our last district meeting and then Hermana Smith and I went around to our investigators telling them goodbye which was super hard. Then we had Pday on Tuesday which was pretty strange but we wanted to change it to see a couple of museums around Cádiz that weren´t open on Monday. They showed some of the under ground ruins of Cádiz that had recently been discovered and then went and ate our last kebob as a district. Tuesday night same a Monday night saying goodbye to everyone and discovering that I didn´t have enough time to see everyone! I then tried to pack everything back into my suitcase and discovered that I had collected a lot of stuff over these past 5 months but no pasa nada it worked out after a lot of jumping up and down on them. Woke up Wednesday morning and Hermana Smith and I caught a train to Jerez and then I to leave the wonderful Hermana Smith and jump on another train to Dos Hermanas with Hermana Morrow and we almost were left in Dos Hermanas while trying to load all our luggage on the train headed to Málaga but we barely made right as the doors where closing. Then in Málaga I met Hermana Merrill and we headed out to our area. We lugged my stuff up 4 flights of stairs ate really quick and headed to work. Our first lesson was with a Mom and daughter and the lesson was going so well and the spirit was so strong until I started to cough and cough and cough I could not stop and boom spirit gone and the rest of our time there was her giving me a bag of lemons and 4 or 5 different medicines that she said I needed to take to get rid of my cough. Then we headed to the cutest family in the whole world. They have 6 kids so things are always pretty crazy around there but I love it. David(one of the kids) was so proud of the song that he learned on the trombone and played that he played it for us 5 times. The highlight of Thursday was when we headed out to contact a reference of the Elders we got there and she welcomed us in and said that us used to rent out one of her rooms o missionaries and that she love to listen to them so we taught her and had an amazing lesson with her and then she insisted that we eat with her and her family. She is from Columbia and so the food was amazing and she said to come back the next week and teach her whole family. Milagro? I think so! That night Hermana Merrill and I discovered a tub of ice-cream in our fridge and we basically attacked it but it´s ok because the one thing that is different about this area is all of the hills and I was definitely feeling the burn this week. I am just so grateful to be out here. I love love love being a missionary and serving these people whether is be in Cádiz or now here in Málaga. I am just so blessed and thankful for all the miracles that I get to see every day. I hope that you all have a great week.

First Transfer

This week has been crazy! Started out last week going to Gibraltar again and it was just as beautiful as last time though this time the monkeys decided to jump on us as we climbed up the stairs and stole one of the Elder´s hat and even tried to eat Hermana Smith ponytail. Then I had the exciting experience of getting sick this week so we had to stay in piso this week for a couple of days as I tried to keep from coughing my lungs out. Then Saturday came around and Hermana Smith and I impatiently waited for the phone call that would tell us where I was going and who would be coming to replace me in Cádiz. It turns out that I´m going to Hermana Smith´s old area in Málaga with her old companion. I´m super excited but pretty sad at the same time. It´s hard to leave when you have investigadores that are progressing and that you care for and you won´t be there to see what happens, The mission is hard but it´s so very worth it! Thank you everyone for your constant love and support.

Semana Santa

Dear Family and Friends, sorry if this week is a bit short. This week was Semana Santa which was filled with tons of processions which where all the area of the Elders which means that our area was basically empty for most of the week but that´s ok we talked to the few that were still there and managed to have some great lessons with our amazing investigators. The best thing this week is that we had the chance to watch general conference. I have been counting down for this for months and it definitely lived up to my expectations. I love what I'm doing and I love the people of Cádiz with all my heart. Thank you for all your support.
